What works for me – student submission
A strategy that I have used and recommend for dealing with difficult situations and feelings has been giving myself time. I set aside an hour or so and let myself feel all of the overwhelming feelings and thoughts and allow myself time to accept the feeling.
I find that allowing yourself time to feel things unabashedly can help a lot with feeling freer and less overwhelmed. Time frames change based on the severity of an emotion, but has greatly helped me in the past, and I pratice I continue to use throughout my everyday life.
