Module 2 – Weekly Activities

Week 5

  • Online Module 2: Information Seeker (5%) 

Week 6

  • Group Work: Create a master list of articles and assign each member 5 to summarize 

Week 7

  • Reading Week: Complete your 5 1-page reading summaries 

Week 8

  • Group Work: Discuss the reading summaries and identify themes

Week 9

  • Group Work: Create a collaborative literature review report for the community partner (10%) 

Module 2 Assignment: Collaborative Literature Review (10%)

Students will work with their group members to identify academic (or other high standard) sources about the topic of the problem they have chosen. The number of articles required will depend on the group size, with each student responsible for contributing 5 article summaries. For instance, if there are 5 group members the total would be 25 articles. If there were 8 group members the total requirement would be 40 articles. Students will be given working periods in class to identify the sources and divide them amongst group members, discuss their reviews of their assigned articles, and create a shared document highlighting the key take-away points. Detailed instructions for this assignment, and a collaborative literature review template will be provided on the course Blackboard site. Please note, this assignment will be given to the community partner as an output of student work on the problem they have posed to the class.
