Dear Student,
The Co-operative Education department at Mohawk College hopes that you find your co-op experience to be rewarding and educational. This is your opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to the world of work and gain experience in your field of study.
The terms and conditions outlined in the following document are in place to help maintain the integrity and reputation of Mohawk College’s Co-operative Education program. The guidelines allow for consistency and quality of program delivery to our two main stakeholders: the co-op student and the co-op employer.
As the student, it is your responsibility to become familiar with and adhere to these guidelines, to ensure a rewarding co-op experience. Lack of knowledge of these terms and conditions does not constitute a valid defense, should an incident arise. The Co-operative Education department reserves the right to take appropriate action if the student does not adhere to the co-op terms and guidelines. In some instances, this may include a “failed work term” or being blocked from applying to co-op opportunities.
Co-op Specialists are here to guide you through the steps necessary to participate in the co-op program. To be successful, you must participate fully in the co-op process and attend the co-op prep classes and modules. It is up to you to make the most of the opportunity.
We look forward to guiding you through your co-op journey.
Sincerely,
The Co-operative Education Team
