Tests

Your myCard ID may be required to identify yourself for written tests and attendance in classes and labs. Students are expected to follow all rules and guidelines for all test (both online and in-person). Failure to follow posted directions may result in a Breach of Academic Honesty and/or being assigned a mark of zero.

Missed Tests

If you miss a test, you need  to contact your Professor by email as soon as possible. Failure to contact your Professor in a timely manner may result in being assigned a mark of zero for the missed test. Include the following information in your email:

  • Full Name
  • Student Number
  • Course Code and Section Number
  • Test missed
  • An explanation for missing the test/assignment
  • Supporting documentation (e.g., doctor’s note, death certificate, police report, etc.)

Requests for a make-up test must be submitted to the professor of the missed test. Do not seek permission for make-up tests from the Success Advisor or the Program Coordinator.

Late Submissions

Approval for late submissions of assignments must be sought in advance of the due date. Any evaluations submitted after the due date without approval or appropriate documentation will be subject to the following penalties[1]:

  • Evaluations submitted after the due date will receive a 5% deduction for each day that the assignment is late, up to a maximum of 40%
  • Evaluations submitted more than 14 days past the due date will not be marked and will be assigned a mark of zero
  • Extensions and late submissions will not be accepted and/or marked after the last day of the classes

Note: This late submission policy applies to all courses unless otherwise stated in the course outline or in the eCentennial course shell.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend all scheduled lectures and labs according to their registered timetable. Absences from lectures and labs should be reported to professors in advance when possible, or as soon as possible following the end of that lecture or lab. Any penalties due to non-attendance will be stated in the course outline.
