Program Description
The Community and Child Studies Foundations program is an alternate offer program intended for students who have applied to enter a program at The School of Community and Child Studies, but who may not currently meet the English communications admission requirements. Students who are highly motivated to build on their existing English language skills, and to develop their understanding of working in the Community Services or Children Services sector, will benefit from this program’s supportive learning environment and academic supports. Students will complete courses in Communications, Canadian Workplace, Student Success and Interpersonal Skills, Health and First Aid, Professionalism and Ethics, and Foundations of Community and Child Studies. Upon successful completion of the 2-semester program, students will be eligible to transfer, with up to 2 credits, to any one of the nine qualifying Community and Child Studies diploma at Centennial College.
