Historical Figure Quiz Game

Remixing the provided template (see below), students will create their own quiz games centered around historical figures. They will then have an opportunity to play the quizzes created by their peers and reflect on the learning process.

Introduction:

Teacher will show the class the above template of a history quiz game and walk them through how the code is structured.

Working Process:

Individually or in partners, students will create their own quiz game based on any historical figure we have studied in class.
They will remix the above code, changing the questions, sprites, and backgrounds, to reflect the figure they have selected.
The teacher will circulate while students are working on the assignment and offer any necessary clarification on the code.
At the end of class, students will share their final products with one another and have an opportunity to play each others’ games.

The quiz is to be made on Scratch using the premade code link. The goal is to have students adjust the quiz to fit their research and play around with different Scratch features.

Consolidation:

After playing each others’ games, students will reflect on the process of creating quizzes and how it has deepened their understanding of the corresponding historical period.
