Explore food chains in different ecosystems. Learn about the interactions of producers, consumers, and decomposers through a guided simulation (code) and then create your own food chain (code) of producers, consumers, and decomposers in the ecosystem of your choice.

1. Introduction to food chains by exploring producers, consumers, and decomposers in different ecosystems

Working on it

1. Have students work in pairs to look up a different ecosystem from the ones demonstrated, find a producer, consumer and decomposer in that ecosystem and make their own code demonstrating the food chain relationship and the interactions of the different species.

Consolidation

1. Have students share with the class what ecosystem they made, and how the scratch program works.
