30 Chapter 47: Scratch Coding Cards

Scratch Coding Cards
Introduction
These are cards that go into detail on how to program certain things in the Scratch program. These cards go over things as basic as how to make a Sprite move left and right, say something, or turn and get as complex as making full-fledged projects. These would be extremely useful for giving students stepping stones to build upon when starting to code. This would also be useful for when students are struggling to figure out how to do something that they are attempting to do in Scratch. The only criticism that I have about the scratch cards is that debugging does not seem to be a prominent piece within these cards. There is very little on debugging and fixing code that is not working correctly. I feel that there could be a couple of Scratch Cards that have tips and tricks on debugging.
How it might be used in the classroom
This could be used in the classroom for when students are learning about the various curriculum expectations within the grade. For example; when students are learning about conditional statements, you could give them the Scratch Cards that have insights on conditional statements so that they can try to figure out how to create conditional statements on their own, with teacher guidance, and with the Scratch Cards. This would provide students with multiple opportunities to learn the material. It would also ensure that students who are struggling have a way to review and practice the different coding aspects.
