ENG 2D Grammar
The wizard instructor is teaching the basics of grammar to the Gr.10 Academic class. He is focused on capitalization, parts of speech and sentence structure.
Introduction:
Students would be provided with some basic sentences with a large amount of grammatical errors, including run-on sentences, issues with punctuation and lack of variety in sentence structure and they would be required to point out the issues, and how they would fix them. This hook serves as a baseline for where students are at with grammar, and involves some movement and participation.
Working Progress:
Students would be required to go through the coded lesson independently taking notes as they progress. They should move through the code three times, one for each element of the lesson: capitalization, parts of speech and sentence structure.
Consolidation:
- Students would then get to look at the work that they did during the minds-on and determine if there were any issues that they would fix differently.
- Students would be reminded that this code can be used as a great tool to study, as well as learn, as it has all of the information needed on these three elements of grammar.
