Core beliefs
My core beliefs in nursing practice is patient dignity and autonomy. Everyone deserves to feel respect and have the right to make decisions, and so do vulnerable patients. I am committed to a non-judgemental , active listening skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care. By doing so, I will create an environment where patients feel safe to express themselves. Building a trusting relationship with patients will allow them to feel confident that their voice matters to us. I strive to be someone patients can rely on, encourage them to ask questions and feel involved in their own care decisions. In addition, providing patient-centered care is a team effort. Therefore, I will collaborate with other providers on the team to ensure that the patient’s values, preferences, and goals are considered in the plan of care.
