Hello and welcome to the Centennial’s very own open textbook template. This document is meant to help take the guesswork out of open textbook creation by providing:

  • Consistent formatting
  • Layout design reflecting a cohesive and professional institution-wide aesthetic
  • An annotated resource list to assist with troubleshooting
  • Examples of attributions and references
  • An accessibility checklist

All to help you make a professional-looking, learner-friendly resource that can be used, revised, and reused well into the future.

The Centennial College Open Textbook Template User Guide

To successfully use this template, it is critical that you first read the Centennial College Open Textbook Template  User Guide. All instructions on how to create a professional and scholarly textbook is provided in this document, along with crucial troubleshooting resources.

Do not precede until you have read the User Guide.

Populating this Template with Your Content

Once cloned, you may begin revising the template with your content. The template layout is designed to be populated with your content and indicates where to put your text. Any text in the template placed in [BRACKETS] is meant to be replaced by your content. Any text highlighted in YELLOW is INSTRUCTIONS. Any text highlighted in BLUE are EXAMPLES.
