Chapter 3 Introduction

We begin our exploration into System Navigation, we will look at the many different components that come into play with each individual that we work with and their journey.  We will discuss many different important concepts that will reoccur as we explore systems navigation which includes:  different systems (medical, hospital, social, legal to name a few) communities, different populations, cultural safe communications, diverse communities, barriers, client and cultural competence.

We will discuss the importance of effective communications, respectful interactions, and remaining teachable when working with different cultures.
