Fieldwork/Simulation Labs*
Fieldwork/Simulation Labs are scheduled hours of activities intended to give students hands-on experience. This instructional setting is characterized by
- activities that are an integral component of the curriculum of the program and are necessary for the completion of the program, and
- are in settings
- outside college facilities (e.g., in a workplace), or
- inside college facilities that simulate a workplace environment (i.e., simulation labs, for example, clinical skills labs used by nursing students to practice on life-like patient models).
*Fieldwork/Simulation Labs do NOT include Laboratory or Workshop activities.
The Fieldwork/Simulation Lab is a mandatory requirement for completion of the program (i.e., the activity cannot be optional unless students are able to access another optional and equivalent EL activity required for completion of the program).
