Territorial Acknowledgement
The authors of this course humbly acknowledge that they have co-created this learning material across the traditional lands of many Indigenous Peoples, including the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, the Mississauga’s of the Credit, Neutral, and Ojibway/Chippewa Peoples. Many Métis, Inuit, and First Nations from across Turtle Island also call these lands home today. We express gratitude to those that reside here and honour those Indigenous Peoples who have lived here in the past and continue to do so today.
Our active work toward reconciliation takes place in our hearts and at our institutions, through learning, teaching and community building. Sustainability in engineering education is one small piece of this work, and the authors would especially like to recognize past, present and future caretaking by Indigenous Peoples to sustain Mother Earth and endeavor to do so ourselves, and invite all educators and learners do so as well.
We hope to bring you a learning experience that helps you situate your own profession with your learners and where you teach – Christine, John, Nadine.
