NUPD 702/743/ Clinical Practicums Late Policy

Late assignment submissions will be documented in the students’ Nursing Performance Appraisal. Repeated Late submissions will lead to an academic contract/learning plan.
Missed Clinical / Lab time
NUPD 702– Students will complete 12 hours per week in the hospital setting, day or evening shifts may be assigned depending on the availability of hospital sites. Full attendance is an expectation of this practice course in order to meet the course competencies.
In case of absence, a student must call the hospital unit a minimum of two hours prior to the beginning of the practice day and notify the clinical instructor by leaving a voice mail message and email.
In case of absence, a student will be required to make up any missed time with alternate assignments or evaluations. Clinical hours cannot be made up by the student during the semester
Missed time may put students at risk for not meeting the course competencies and may result in a failing grade.
NUPD 743– Missed hours are made up in the practicum setting, with approval from preceptor and faculty liaison. All changes to the student’s schedule must be communicated via email to faculty liaison.
