BodyStat General Guidelines

  • The client should remove their right shoe and sock
  • The client lays supine with their arms 30° from their body and legs not touching
  • The electrode sites may be cleaned with alcohol, particularly if the skin is dry or covered with lotion
  • When using the BodyStat, the black lead is always on top

Using the BodyStat Equipment

  • Set up the BodyStat device PRIOR to connecting your client to the electrodes
  • BodyStat Activity Level is recorded based on the following parameters:
    • Very Low – Generally inactive
    • Low/Medium – Recreational activities for short during and at low intensity
    • Medium – Sporadic involvement in recreational activities for short duration and at moderate intensity.
    • Medium/High – Moderate job activity and moderate exercise 3 times per week.
    • Very High – Consistent job activity and vigorous exercise 4 times per week.

NOTE: The activity level does not affect the actual body composition results but is only used to calculate the EAR (Estimated Average Requirement for Calories). The Basal Metabolic weight is calculated on the LEAN weight of the individual.

  • When prompted attach the electrodes and cables as shown in the illustration (see below)
