Editor Biographies

Meg (she/her) is a PhD student in biological anthropology at McMaster University. Her research interests lie in adolescent health and lifeways in the past, the archaeology of disability, and the lived experience of disease. She is thankful to have been part of this project preserving individual stories of living through a global pandemic

Kumkum (she/her) is a recent McMaster University graduate with a BA Hons. in Anthropology. Her research interests are Near Eastern and Ancient Egyptian bioarchaeology, with a particular focus on how skeletal remains reflect social differences and lived experiences in past societies. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in the future to further her research interests.

Victoria Clowater (all pronouns) is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at McMaster University. Their research looks at polyamorous families in Canada, and how they navigate systems that are built around the assumption that all families have couples at the centre. They were glad to join this project in a supporting role, helping to copy edit these powerful student essays on pandemic life.

Sarah Oresnik (they/them) is a PhD candidate at McMaster University in the Anthropology Department. Their research explores how food environments and food insecurity impact our health and well-being, particularly as it relates to adolescents in the UK.

Amanda Wissler (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at McMaster University. Her research focuses on biocultural approaches to frailty and resiliency and how emerging infectious diseases intersect with inequality, racism, and sexism. She uses epidemiological and demographic methods to explore forces that shape health and survival during past pandemics
