Internship at the Royal Ontario Museum

During the academic year of 2022-2023, I was fortunate enough to be accepted as an intern at the Royal Ontario Museum for the fall semester. I interned under the Technician of Archaeology of the Americas, April Hawkins and Senior Curator of the Americas, Justin Jennings. My time as the ROM consisted of working with the museum’s largest collection of over 1 million objects, recovered from archaeological excavations at the Seed-Barker Site. The Seed-Barker Site was once a village inhabited by the Ancestral Huron-Wendat. The Site dates to the Late Iroquoian period, circa 16th century. I worked with two other undergraduate interns, assisting former Head Archaeologist of the Seed-Barker Site, Robert Burgar.
