Program Modalities and Requirements
During regular delivery, some of the courses will be delivered in a hybrid or blended modality while most are face-to-face. For the hybrid/blended courses, a laptop computer or tablet device will be required for the courses to be able to fully engage and complete work (using only a smartphone is not recommended for these courses).
Delivery During COVID-19
For the Fall 2021 semester, all of the theory courses will be delivered online with the majority being delivered synchronously. Be prepared to log in during your scheduled times for each class every week to have the opportunity to actively engage in the learning. Assessments may be completed during these synchronous classes so attendance is of the utmost importance.
Post-Pandemic Delivery
As the Fall 2021 semester continues Centennial College and the Motive Power department will continue to follow Ontario Public Health guidelines with hopes to resume normal operation in Winter 2022 semester. This would have Face-to-Face theory classes on campus and full functioning lab classes.
Important Note
Please note that delivery plans for your program may change due to mandated Ontario Public Health measures. Continue to monitor the COVID-19 Student Information Centre for up-to-date information.
eCentennial
All courses at Centennial have an online learning environment on eCentennial, the College’s learning management system. Through eCentennial you can access course documentation and class assignments, monitor grades, and actively communicate and collaborate with professors and other students. Online courses and online components of hybrid courses will be delivered through eCentennial. You may need to write online tests and submit assignments via eCentennial. Your professor will discuss their use of eCentennial in each of your courses. View this video to learn how to navigate eCentennial and view the eCentennial Help- Video Tutorials.
