Conclusion

This Asynchronous Toolkit is just the beginning. While we’ve provided some practice guidance and preliminary steps to enhance your e-learning approach, there’s a lot more to learn and do. We encourage exploration and a play mentality. Just remember that by utilizing open source tools, you can create engaging and flexible learning experiences tailored to diverse learner needs without breaking the institutional bank or compromising on your content.

Throughout this toolkit, we explored how learning theories can inform and enhance the development of asynchronous modules. We discussed development pipelines, organization strategies, content importation, and hosting options.

We think you’re ready to design and develop e-learning materials! We hope you’ll embrace open source tools, modular design, and pedagogical theories to create impactful learning experiences going forward.
