In October 2024, I had the opportunity to attend an education day for Acute Medicine nurses, hosted by the educators at Lakeridge Health. I was able to meet with sponsors and other organizations who work with Lakeridge Health, such as community partners, vendors and sales representatives. Although I have some knowledge in the content that was mentioned, I appreciated the ability to practice and ask questions regarding certain skills and procedures. Alongside my colleagues, I was able to review procedures for a Code Blue, Code Stroke/EVT, PVAD/CVAD, CADD pumps, restraints and wound care. Overall, this artifact remains relevant in my nursing journey as it shows that the profession of nursing includes a lifelong commitment to education and improving skills.
