Attending the online hand hygiene workshop by Public Health Ontario was truly valuable and enlightening for me as it deepened my understanding of the impact hand hygiene has in safeguarding health. The workshop emphasized the role of hand hygiene, in preventing the transmission of infectious diseases as a primary focus point. I learned that most infections are transmitted through hand contact; hence, maintaining hand hygiene can contribute to promoting the well-being of both individuals and the community at large. The significance of this technique was highlighted through the use of data and practical instances that were shared.
During the training session, we also discussed the importance of maintaining hand hygiene by utilizing hand sanitizers and washing hands. This taught me that these practices are backed by knowledge and their proper implementation is crucial for effectiveness. Understanding how different types of viruses can linger on our hands has led me to appreciate the importance of thorough hand cleansing.
