Step 1: Complete the Online Field Placement Profile
In March, all students will receive an email containing a link to the “Area of Interest Form” via Google Docs. Completion of this form is mandatory and must be submitted by the specified deadline.

Failure to complete the form, provide accurate information, or submit by the deadline may result in being placed on an Independent Search. This can delay your placement or limit your available options, so timely and accurate completion is essential.
Information to Include

Geographic Area / Address
Provide your full residential address, including postal code, apartment/unit number (if applicable), and nearest intersection. This helps the Field Placement Coordinator match you with agencies that are geographically feasible for your commute.Example:

Accommodation or Accessibility Needs
Include any accommodations you require, including registration with CALCS – Centre for Accessible Learning and Counselling Services. This ensures that agencies and the College can provide the supports you need for a successful placement. -
Three Areas of Interest
Indicate the types of work or populations you are most interested in. Do not list specific agencies here; focus on the work or populations you want to serve. Examples include:-

Include your name, student number, pronouns, and preferred placement location. Accurate personal information ensures correct documentation and communication with agencies. -

Some agencies require specific languages to meet the needs of the communities they serve. Listing the languages you speak can improve your chances of being matched with an appropriate placement. -
Transportation
Indicate whether you will be commuting by public transit or driving. This helps ensure your placement location is accessible and realistic based on your transportation options. -

Optional: Some students choose to indicate if they are in recovery. This disclosure is entirely voluntary and will remain confidential. Certain agencies prefer students with lived experience, so this can sometimes enhance placement opportunities.
