Students are expected to be present at the clinical site as scheduled by the Clinical Liaison. Students will be allowed a maximum 2 sick days throughout clinical training. Any days exceeding this maximum must be made up prior to the completion of the program, based on availability and at the convenient of the clinical site. The site clinical supervisor as well as the Mohawk College Clinical Liaison must be notified by the student of any absence during the clinical placement. Absenteeism may jeopardize the student’s ability to meet the clinical objectives which may result in the student receiving an Incomplete (I) or Failure (FL) grade.

Attendance at all fieldwork placements is mandatory. If fieldwork must be missed, it is the student’s responsibility to inform the clinical facility as soon as possible (preferably prior to the start time of the day) AS WELL AS the Program Clinical Fieldwork co-ordinator. Missed days will be documented by the facility and the Program. Documentation may be required for the student to return to the clinical facility. Notes and any related costs are the responsibility of the student. Missed fieldwork days or part thereof even due to illness or extenuating circumstances MUST be made up. Make-ups will be arranged at the discretion of the facility and faculty, and must be completed before the student is considered for promotion. Chronic lateness and absenteeism will affect the final grade assigned.
Students are allowed a maximum of two lieu/sick days during each clinical semester. Any additional sick
