PHARM TECH
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT for Pharmacy Technician Program Practical / Laboratory Courses
Attendance for all lab and practical courses is mandatory. A missed lab or missed hours within the lab for valid reason may be made up on the student’s free time as scheduled and decided by the lead instructor. Missed labs without a valid reason or documentation will result in a mark of “0” for that lab. Designated courses, as outlined in the course outline/module, may also result in loss of marks from the student’s final grade for a missed lab(s). Failure to obtain a full attendance record during the semester may result in an “I”, incomplete designation, or “FL”, failure on the student’s transcript.
*See Section 5 – Missed Evaluations for details on the Missed Evaluation Form.
Absent students are required to contact the course faculty (via email) ahead or the day of the missed lab if they are absent. Documentation must be provided by the student to consider lessening the penalty for their absenteeism.
ASSESSMENT OF SEMESTER 3 Pharmacy Technician Program Practical / Laboratory Courses
In addition to achieving a passing mark (60%), a student must also achieve a passing mark (60%) on the final exam in order to be successful in semester 3 practical lab courses.
Should a student not be successful in the course, the lower of their final exam mark and the weighted course final mark will be recorded as their final grade for the course (a failing grade).
- If a student is unsuccessful on the final exam (but would otherwise have passed the course) and is assigned a final grade between 55 and 59%, the student will automatically be given an opportunity to re-take the final exam. The mark on this second attempt of the final exam will stand as the exam mark.
