Onboarding New Staff
Welcome
Welcome
The resources included in this guide will help new part-time faculty and instructors prepare for their courses and will serve as on-going support for all of our part-time team. If you have questions about tools or processes, please check this resource first for guidance.
The Department of Allied Health involves programs offered at Fennell and IAHS. These programs involve Pharmacy Technician, Cardiovascular Technology, Canadian Health Care, Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant, Massage Therapy, Pre-Health and Recreation Therapy. These programs are unique in examining health across the care continuum, ranging from wellness to disease as well as across the lifespan, ranging from childhood to adulthood.
As part-time faculty, you will work closely with the Coordinator in your academic area. If the course was taught previously, you are strongly encouraged to connect with this faculty member to ensure you have the most up to date content as well as any historical context about this course. You also have access to our support and administrative team. It is critical that you connect with this team to ensure that high academic standards are upheld at the college and as part of our accreditation requirements.

Welcome from our Administrative Team
Welcome to Allied Health! I’m thrilled that you’ll be teaching with us and supporting our students in their academic journey. As a former part-time faculty member and later Program Coordinator and Professor, I appreciate the excitement and the concerns you might feel about being in the classroom. Please know that there is a team supporting you at every step of the process. Please reach out if you have specific questions about your courses or more generally, want to talk about curriculum or best practices related to teaching and learning. I look forward to working together!
