Introduction

Good communication skills are essential for a peer visitor.  They help you develop a therapeutic relationship with the person you’re visiting. In this section we will talk about forming therapeutic relationships, you will learn and practice communication skills including the very important skill of listening. We will also briefly address some of the challenges of cross-cultural communication.
