How to spot difficult situations and deal with them

When conducting your visits ensure that you are paying attention to not only what is being said but also your peer’s body language. If there is a topic on which you cannot provide enough support, please refer your peer to the resources they may need.

If there is a situation that is of high concern please report it to the person or group that passed on the referral and document the situation in your notes.  Remember, any notes that you take must be kept confidential. If possible, do not use the person you are visiting’s name on them and keep them in a safe place.
