About Me
My name is Abimbola Fatoki, and at the present moment, I am a first-year nursing student at Trent University. My route to nursing has been defined by my occupations of being a wife and a mom to two awesome kids, as well as a caregiver. I am a resident of Ajax, an energetic community that has greatly contributed to my academic and personal development. I have commenced my learning experience at Trent University, which is a new phase in my quest for my life’s dream; to be a nurse who is kind and well-trained. I began my nursing program at Durham College, where I earn a diploma in Practical Nursing . During this time, I gained significant practical knowledge and experience, particularly within the Department of Medical Surgery at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. When I was given the opportunity to apply theory to patient care it sparked my deep interest in nursing. Aside from my role as a Personal Support workers at Lakeridge gardens, it was actually here that I understood the helpful points of holistic medicine, thus, reaffirming my commitment to this area.
Nursing for me is not just an occupation, it is a detail fulfilling my life supported by deep love, strength, and geuine faith in a better future for the world. As I move into this academic journey at Trent University, I have made my abiding promise to overcome the obstacle by advancing from RPN to Registered Nurse (RN). That particular transformation is not only reflective of my personal growth but also of the fact that I have taken a significant step toward the health sector revolution.
