Exit Options
In Centennial College’s General Arts program, you study a range of subjects in the humanities and social sciences, as well as communications. Centennial’s General and Liberal Arts programs run two to four semesters in length, depending on your future goals.
The General Arts Certificate (2 semesters) program is for you if you are:
- Considering college programs such as Communication Arts, Child Studies, Community Services or Hospitality, and Tourism Administration.
- Planning on transferring to the Liberal Arts Diploma.
- Exploring your ultimate career goals and various educational opportunities.
The Liberal Arts program covers a range of subjects in the humanities and social sciences, as well as communications and research methods.
The Liberal Arts Diploma (4 semesters) program is for you if you are:
- Interested in applying to a Bachelor of Arts Program at a recognized university.
- Considering college programs such as Business Administration, Child Studies and Community Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Journalism and Media and Design.
- Exploring your ultimate career goals and various educational opportunities.
Pathways to other Programs/Partners
Articulation Agreements: Liberal Arts
Qualified graduates may be eligible to participate in pathway programs with partnering institutions. These pathway programs allow you to receive degree credit for learning obtained at Centennial College. Our partners include:
- University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, Ontario (6705)
- Trent University, Ontario (6706)
- York University, Ontario (6707)
Please note that the curriculum is identical for 6701, 6705, 6706 and 6707. The program number indicates which pathway you’re interested in.

Specialized Academic Certificates
You can use your General Education (GNED) elective courses to fulfill the requirements for a Specialized Academic Certificate. Specialized Academic Certificate programs provide an opportunity for students registered in a Diploma or Advanced Diploma program to earn an additional Centennial College Certificate concurrently with their diploma. In order to obtain a Specialized Academic Certificate, you must successfully complete GNED500 plus the three GNED courses required by the Specialized Academic Certificate program. The GNED courses will also fulfill the elective GNED requirements of the diploma program. There are currently three Specialized Academic Certificate programs:
- Indigenous Studies: First Peoples in Canada,
- Inclusive Leadership Practices, and
- Entrepreneurism
