Introduction to Sources
The type of information that you are looking for affects more than just the databases you should search. Are you looking for original research, or a review of what knowledge has been gathered on your topic? Are you looking for a specific format different from an article, like an e-book or media materials? Are you looking for community-based knowledge?
Your journey of accessing these sources can also differ, as some may be digitized to view from your computer, while others may only be available in-person (which you can plan your visit ahead of time by calling or looking at an institutions’ webpage, such as Western Libraries Archives and Special Collections).
