About the Author

Emily Carrasco-Acosta, MLIS, B.Sc. (she/they) is a disabled second-generation Chilean Canadian, living in Milton on Traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, The Haudenosaunee Confederacy, and The Huron-Wendat and Wyandot Nations before coming to Western for her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree. Her research interests since starting her MLIS lie in knowledge justice, accessibility, and authority from equity-denied groups seeking their voice in the academic world, connecting misinformation from information seeking behaviour, and health information dissemination for equity-denied groups.
