Stage 2 – Planning and Designing

Once you have a partner established, it is time to work together to plan out logistical details such as generating student project groups, managing time zone differences, and technological tools to be used. For example, it may be important to consider both the size and composition of the student project groups.
As these discussions can take weeks, especially for your first Virtual Exchange collaboration, it is important to meet early to ensure there is enough time to work through your various decision-making processes. Throughout this phase you also have the opportunity to establish a supportive and mutually respectful dynamic within the Virtual Exchange instructional team, bearing in mind that this unique opportunity for students will not be possible without the tremendous efforts, enthusiasm, time and dedication of the whole Virtual Exchange team from both sides.
