Your Turn: Valuing Commonalities and Differences

These reflections from our research team revealed shared values—like mentorship, curiosity, and collaboration—but they also highlighted tensions: the challenge of fitting into disciplinary spaces, the emotional labour of community-building, and the uneven paths toward belonging.

If you recognize some of your own story in these words, you’re not alone. And if your experience looks different, that’s important too. A strong community starts by making space for a range of perspectives—including yours.
