SoTL, Belonging, and Academic Identity

A key consideration in discussions around belonging in SoTL is how engaging in SoTL affects one’s academic identity and professional sense of self. As higher education faculty or staff, is SoTL something you do off the side of your desk? It is part of your formal research agenda? Is it something that connects your research and teaching? How does engaging with SoTL affect how you see yourself and others within your discipline?
