15 Choosing Digital Sensor Communication Interfaces

As part of your kit, you will have an I2C digital sensor breakout board, probably one of the BMP180, BMP280, BME 280 pressure sensor family, or an LIS3DH accelerometer. The basic processes for using each of them are similar. Be sure to install the libraries you need for your I2C sensor and any others you plan to use in the lab, using the Arduino IDE. There are many sensors available that communicate the results of their measurements digitally. These videos (slides PDF) explain the background to making connections over I2C or SPI to get information from sensors like the ones you will use in these labs. (video 10:23)
