A Continuation in My Tale

I always mused that I would go back to get a degree in Health Care. After many trials and tribulations, here I am: in my first year of the Compressed Nursing program at Trent University. My name is Rhianna, and though my previous degree is in Fine Arts, I have been working in the IPAC and administrative side of health care until deciding to continue my education by pursuing Nursing. Having the opportunity to work in a patient-facing position allowed me to develop deep appreciation for the connection between patients and the health care workers they rely on, as well as the feeling of reward at being able to support patients and families on their health journeys.

During my studies at Trent, I hope to learn to become an excellent Registered Nurse that will lead by example when I become a working professional. I plan to focus my studies on the brain and nervous system as an area of interest, to what end I am sure will become more clear after gaining experience in placements and evaluating my options. I am excited to meet as many of my cohorts as I can and learn from their stories, experiences and hopefully make some new friends along the way.
