My Nursing Philosophy

Early in the semester, I was asked what core values I have as a nursing student.Those values are are integrity, accountability, respect and inclusivity. When you behave sincerely with integrity, you allow those around you be their true selves. When you are true with yourself and those around you, you are able to be accountable and answerable for your actions. When you respect yourself and those around you, you will interact with them with integrity and accountability and the same in turn. This facilitates authentic communication, free of judgement, and fosters an atmosphere of inclusivity.

Central to nursing practice is the concept of patient-centered care and how to best provide care holistically. In my journey as a student nurse, I want to explore how presenting my most authentic professional self will foster an atmosphere of inclusivity for patients to be their authentic selves and improve patient outcomes.
