  1. Understand key techniques for gaining compliance.

How can you convince people to donate money, to volunteer their time, to sign a petition or to agree to other things that may be tedious, difficult or otherwise unappealing? Luckily, the field of social psychology has uncovered techniques that are effective in persuading people to comply with our requests. Interestingly, the way we craft the message can have a major impact on their likelihood of agreeing to our request.
