Destination College (Grades 7/8)

Destination College provides grade seven and eight classes in local school boards with hands-on, interactive learning opportunities in partnership with the School College Work Initiative. Destination College is an annual week-long event taking place in May or June which allows students to participate in sessions promoting different pathways, potential careers, and essential skills as students start to consider their secondary and post-secondary options.

For 2023, Destination College will be an opportunity. Students and their teachers will participate in 30-45 minute workshops and College Life presentations. This college awareness project provides grade seven students with hands-on, interactive learning opportunities within a variety of areas of Mohawk College.

Destination College 2023

Mohawk College will be hosting the annual Destination College event May 23-25 & May 30-31, 2023. This initiative is co-managed by the Council of Ontario Directors of Education and the Committee of College Presidents and is funded by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

It is an exciting opportunity for us to engage with over 2,000 grade 7 and 8 students and help them learn more about college life through interactive workshops related to Mohawk College programs and services.

This year we will be hosting the Hamilton-Wentworth, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk, Grand Erie, and Brant school boards on the following days:
