Compassion

Being able to show compassion for clients includes showing empathy and care through a variety of traits, such as kindness and understanding, as well as providing an overall concern for their well-being. Compassion is when you truly understand and feel the pain or struggles someone else is going through and look out to ease their burden. It includes building a connection with one’s experience and being motivated to do something about it. In nursing, compassion is about offering comfort, being emotionally available, and making them feel heard and respected during difficult times. Addressing the emotional, physical and psychological aspects of various health situations is beneficial for creating nurse-patient relationships and assuring that needs are met. Providing personalized care to patients allows me to connect with patients on a deeper level.
