Our projects are typically developed over a four-month cycle to mirror the semesters, and we work on ten projects per semester, or 30 per year.
At the start of a new project, the Studio team meets with SMEs for a one-hour development kick-off meeting. In the meeting, the following will be covered:

- Kick-off Meeting (expectations, roles, and communication)
- Review of development plan (copyright review)
- Starting the writing process
- Draft content in Word (365) or Google Docs
- Weekly or bi-weekly check-in meetings with the team
- Design is formalized after a few chapters
- Agile approach
SME Readiness
Before engaging in an OER development project, a SME should have the following:
- knowledge of copyright and open licenses (OER Prep Course)
- an understanding of universal design and accessibility
- research and academic writing skills
- the ability to collaborate
- time management skills
- passion and commitment
