44 Employment Accessibility and Well-Being

Employee and Family Assistance Program

During this period, McMaster continued to expand and work  with Telus Health, McMaster’s provider of its Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) which provides easier access to mental, physical, social and financial wellbeing supports. Telus Health is Canada’s most expansive clinical network: those who need support or resources can access them through phone, in-person visits, video, an online chat feature and self-guided learning. The Workplace Health & Well-being Team and the Healthy Workplace Committee have collaborated with Telus Health to schedule synchronous learning sessions, ranging from Psychological Safety, Women’s Health, and Neurodiversity in the Workplace.

The Working Mind Mental Health Training

The Working Mind is an evidence-based program designed to promote mental health and reduce stigma around mental health in the workplace.  This training directly supports our shared purpose of promoting and contributing to a healthy and safe community at McMaster University. This program was offered extensively during this period as part of efforts to increase mental health support to the McMaster community.
